We wanted to give you some practical assistance with the challenges you may face in encouraging the prophetic ministry in your church, be it through gifting or trans-local prophetic ministry.

In the local church we face common challenges that come unannounced or at times, challenges that seemingly stare us in the face.

The Some practical issues… we face can vary from not really being able to see the bigger picture of what God is doing and feeling very much that as a fellowship, we are all alone. Sometimes the encouragement we need to hear is the exhortation that despite things being hard, the tide is turning.

Scripture is pregnant with promise and Joel 2 certainly provides plenty. How best to encourage sons and daughters to be on the reach for God and step out in faith in the prophetic gifts may be something we need to seriously consider.

Sometimes we have to face difficult situations in Church life where we just don’t know if what we are facing is God or circumstance, or even the enemy. It can be easy to mistake assumptions or decisions based on suspicion mistaking it for discernment.

Other Some practical issues… are what happens when things go wrong – really wrong? Things wrongly said, or issues of sin or wrong attitudes…

Lastly, for now at least, a consideration about signs and fleeces. "Lord if you don’t want me to buy this new car, let the sign be that a 3 legged cow will come down the road wearing a leotard with a little frog sitting in its ear…
